one semester of college down, seven more to go. yay!

time sure flies by when your stuck doing endless amounts of essays and exams. i never knew how much i'd grow from this experience. it was definitely tough in the beginning, but i've made some great friends and it's always getting better. one lesson i have learned: have low expectations and you won't get let down. i'm of course referring to the nasty cafeteria food they serve here. i'm so happy i'm leaving it behind and gonna be eating some homemade food for once. no more chicken tenders please!! no more deceiving macaroni and cheese that looks like it'll taste great, but actually has no flavor at all. just sitting waiting for my taxi now to take me to Logan Airport...time go faster! i seriously over packed and am at risk of having to pay more money since it might be over 50 lbs. oh boy! i don't know what to do with all my free time now!! ahhh cali here i come!! i'm so excited i can't seem to control myself. i just wanna DANCE! haha. but i won't. i will miss all my suffolk friends: nikki, allie, ant ( i literally made friends w/ an ant on the sidewalk), jk antjelina. ;) i'll miss our uppercrust/urban outings everyday. our family hangouts. our awkward tremont cafe moments.

here i come cali weather. a nice 75 degrees. i needa get away from this sub zero temp wind. oh, it's bittersweet though. old and new are now having to merge together. i'm gonna need to find a balance.

thanksgiving break finally came. and i'm so happy.

school has been bumming me out and i literally have 0% motivation to do hw now.

but even if i didn't get to be home for break. i'm thankful that i got to see my family out here.

Wednesday:

• 5 hour amtrak train ride from Boston to New York
• read an entire book in one sitting (nice!)
• got lost in Penn Station (freaked out for a little bit)
• 1 1/2 hour train ride from New York to New Jersey
• aunt's house

Thursday:

• 3 hour drive back into Painted Post, New York
• dunkin' donuts
• shannon&joe's house
• baby cousins (emily, kristen, and nathan)
• FOOD!
• swings & wii competition
• "momma. i'm thanksgiving for you.."

Friday:

• slept in (no black friday for me)
• multiple games of UNO w/ emily and kristen
• caterpillar drawings w/ nathan
• 'say yes to the dress' marathon
• photo booth fun

what i have to look forward to: parade, sleeping in, avoiding my hw, playing w/ my cousins. so much more to come :)

i'm so glad i got to be w/ family this thanksgiving. i love my family. i'm thankful for my family. i'm thankful for my friends. i'm thankful for life.

i've been super busy. but i'm procrastinating some english homework right now, so i wanna catch up on this thing. so anyways..midterms and all the papers that were due last week almost drove me crazy, but i was SO happy that the weekend finally came because i finally was gonna go to ol' hillbilly Tennessee to visit Chuck, Nikki, Randy, and Mia.

(those three decided that rock climbing was cooler then me. boo. but i'm proud of their amazing climbing skills. miss you guys.) Some pics of my adventure.

i thought going there would make me feel better, but it only makes me miss you more. you really made me more confused. why?! ugh. make my life so complicated. haha. but you got me thinking about what i really wanna do. i wish i just knew what to do. i wish i knew the perfect fit for me. i'm torn between the adventure and my dream and then what's practical in the world today. i don't want regrets. pray, that's all i can do.

Home Sweet Home.

This past weekend i got to go back to Cali for my grandpa's 95th bday&family reunion. i was so extremely happy to be back there. Friday-i got to hang w/ my bestie, SABRINA. i missed that girl way too much! i wish we went to the same school. we decided to head over to IN-N-OUT, which i have been craving since i left. gosh, that was seriously the best cheeseburger i've ever had that day. Saturday-woke up bright and early to go with Sabrina to ReLive..and then headed to 'big church' as my mom likes to call it. got to see ERIN&PRIYA. i miss their craziness. sat w/ my WHOLE family at church..we took up two whole benches..i loved sitting w/ them. i've always wanted my family there w/ me like everyone else's and i was finally able to have my family there w/ me. :) then it was up to my mom's house to grub on some delicious food my grandma made..seriously the best food EVER! hung out w/ my cousins. went over to Law's coffee shop in Oak Glen to get some apple pie and ice cream. sang a wonderful rendition of 'happy birthday' for my grandpa. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH DOO-DAH! Sunday-ate brunch w/ the family, then hung around the house. cousin, uncle, and mom thought we should do some good ol' shooting in our canyon. i got to shot a pistol? i think. i don't know. all i know is that i got 9 outta 10 shots on the target and got one ring away from the bullseye :) then my uncle and aunt took me down to LA for a fancy dinner at MR.CHOW'S on rodeo drive.super fun. :)

now i'm back in boston, in the cold..yippee??

went to his concert last night at the house of blues in boston, next to fenway, and it was AMAZING! his soulful melodies and freestyling abilities blow my mind. i've heard some of his songs before from Courtney, but hearing him live made me go and illegally download his whole albums. haha. his opening band was pretty tight too. It was Diane Birch, never heard of her before, but she was surprisingly great. she has a deep jazz-y country type of voice. it's different. i like it, but not as much as matt kearney. soo many concerts this fall. can't wait :)

p.s. need to start working out more..it's been too long. and there's too much delicious fried food here. ugh. i wish my school had a better gym facility...we literally have like 2 treadmills and they're in the sub-basement..yay!

Fossils!!

this weekend i decided to visit my sister in new hampshire. my dad was coming out to see her at her vball tournament, so i took a train up to join them. pretty good weekend.

but thank goodness monday is finally over with. had su 101/dante's divine comedy seminar/english 101. now i can breath. found out the museum of science was free tonight for all college students, so me and nikki (my roommate) decided to go, but not before making a quick stop at MIKE'S PASTRY to pick up a cannoli. they were soooo freaking delicious :)) so worth the walk..and we walked all the calories off anyways cause the museum was hella far away. my feet hurt. i'm going to rest now. here are some pics.

So Fresh.

My first day of school has come and gone. didn't have to wake up till 2:30 PM for my first class (Freshmen Seminar). woohoo! i'm gonna love wednesdays. then to my english 101 class. seriously thought the teacher was one of the students at first...she looks like she's 20 years old. classes seem chill for now, we'll see how it goes...

i find myself walking/shopping/eating by myself alot. kinda depresssing..

Today: Monday, Sept. 7, 2009

I officially moved into my dorm room yesterday afternoon. it was hella crazy outside my dorm building. there were boxes upon boxes of peop

le's dorm supplies and it was crazy cause it was all out like right on the str

eet. so after checking in i hauled my three ex

tremely stuffed suitcases up to the 6th floor of the 150 Tremont dorm building and found my future home for the next year. I got to my room before my roommate did, so i was able to choose the first bunk. yay! my dorm is so amazing. i have a beyond amazing view of the boston co

mmon, which is like the central park of boston if you've never heard/seen it before. After claiming my bed i went back to the hotel to spend the last couple hours with my sister before she had to go back to UNH (university of new hampshire). After all that jazz, i got back to my dorm and finally had to unload everything..and by everything i mean pretty much just my clothes cause that's like all i could fit in my suitcases. so my dorm is pretty plain right now..no posters or lights or anything cause i had no idea how to get those out here..by the end of this month at least me and my roommate should have the place spruced up a bit more. haha.

so today was a pretty chill day. had to go to a mandatory f

loor meeting at 10 AM, but no biggie..then it was

free day the rest of the time. i decided to go down to the cafeteria and try it out, BY MYSELF. it was so freaking sad. i found the loner table and sat there watching people walk on the street, so freaking depressing. i was so desperate for someone to talk to that i called my mom to make it look like i knew someone. haha..i'm so gay. but yea, the food wasn't half bad, just a regular grilled cheese and salad. whoo! i'm actually

eating healthier here then i did at home. i'm off to a good start :) then around 7 me and my roommate started heading over to the House of Blues for our freshmen social. we had to take the subway so that was a whole new experience for me. super crowded, super hot, and super smelly. niice.

the social was pretty cool..and i mean you couldn't really 'socialize' with anyone cause the music was so loud, but there was a dance floor and what not...it's so different from loma linda...SO DIFFERENT. I have so much freedom at this school and they actually treat you like an adult, it's really different. hopefully i can handle it. haha ;)

Adjusting.

so this is my blog, WELCOME.

i decided to start a blog so that all my friends back home or wherever they are could see what's happening with my life here in Boston.

I landed here in Boston yesterday and it's already a completely different experience. Let me tell you though, Boston is super crowded here in late August/early September. I mean it is Labor Day weekend so i kinda get why, but it's insane. I can barely walk down the street sometimes without being bumped or pushed in some way. haha. The people here are completely different. It's hard to explain, but their just not like California people. I guess it's just another thing i'll have to get used to. Today was just spent walking around the city and shopping, it was pretty chill, just too many people. Tomorrow i finally get to move into my dorm and i'm really anxious for that. I can't wait to unload all this luggage i've brought with me and finally be able to relax.

Currently: i am in my hotel's lobby which is the only place i can get some free internet and talking to my friends back home. i miss you all so much!!

i'll be sure to update as much as i can. & put pictures up so you can see all of my adventures in Boston :)
